JOE DENDY for CHAIRMAN
Joe is truly the conservative grassroots choice in this race. In the past two years of leading this party, he has proven he has no hidden agendas and wants to advance this party to become an even greater force in the elections of strong conservative candidates to office . . . especially in 2014!
Joe would be honored and humbled to have your support and vote on March 9 at the Cobb County Republican Convention, and pledges to congtinue leading this party with a servant's heart.
Proven Strength through Conservative Leadership Dedicated to Excellence
God, family and country are extremely important to Joe Dendy. He is a proven leader in his church, his community, the business world, the military and in the political arena. His leadership style is one of being a good listener and leading by example, never asking anyone to do anything that he is not willing to do.
Joe was born into a strong Christian conservative family in Laurens, SC and received his BS degree in Management with minors in Economics and Finance from Clemson University. While at Clemson, Joe exemplified his leadership while in the ROTC program and was commissioned into the U.S. Army upon graduating.
Joe served his country as a commissioned officer for five years, during which time he was placed into major leadership roles far beyond his rank. He proudly served in combat in Vietnam and was awarded, among other decorations, the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Commendation Medal.
Upon leaving the U.S. Army, Joe and his wife, Billie, and their two children, Melissa and Michael, settled in West Cobb County. Today, Joe and Billie have eleven special joys in their lives, their wonderful grandchildren.
Joe has been a member of the Cobb County Republican Party for the past 17 years and has served as its Chairman for the last two years. He has been very intrumental in many political campaigns, and his advice has been sought after by many candidates. Joe served as the Georgia Campaign Director for the Mike Huckabee for President campaign, and as a consultant, fundraiser or campaign manager for Roger Hines for State School Superintendent, Jeff Chapman for Governor, Nathan Deal for Governor and the Sam Teasley for State Representative campaigms in 2010.
Since one of the key roles of the County Chairman is fundraising, it is important to elect someone who is a proven fundraiser. Joe's fundraising experience goes all the way back to when he was in the U.S. Army. He received national recognition for his leadership in developing and implementing a highly successful world wide charitable fundraising operation for the U.S. Departments of Defense and State. Joe's program is still the method by which these two federal departments raise money for all charitable organizations worldwide.
In 2010, Chairman Joe, First Vice Chairman , Rose Wing, and Billie Dendy, organized and carried out a very successful fundraising luncheon for gubernatorial candidate Nathan Deal the week before the Primary Run Off. Joe's friend, Mike Huckabee, accepted an invitation to be at the luncheon, and through Joe's leadership, over $100,000 was raised for candidate Nathan Deal.
Joe has continued to prove his fundraising abilities in the past two years as our Cobb County Republican Party Chairman, raising record amounts that resulted in bringing our party out of debt and into a strong financial position.
Joe has also demonstrated his keen desire for children in our schools to learn the correct facts about our country's Constitution and the intent of our founding fathers. Joe conceived the idea of recording a 30-minute classroom presentation of our U.S. Constitution to be taught in classrooms throughout the state, and upon acquiring the approval of State School Superentent John Barge, Joe successfully coordinated the cast and filming of the presentation with the help of State Senator Barry Loudermilk and his family. Today, this classroom presentation is available to all school teachers in Georgia and throughout the nation to show to their students. If you have not seen the video, visit http://bcove.me/kkb4t709.
Joe's proven strength has been recognized also in his position as the Georgia Republican Party Chairman of the Over 80,000 Caucus. In this capacity, Joe has worked over the past two years with the County Chairmen of the other 28 Georgia counties that have a population of over 80,000. Through Joe's strong leadership, this caucus has, for the first time, become a vibrant working group whose counties have prospered through the sharing of ideas with fellow county chairmen.
